Join us online Saturday, June 7 at 11 am central time for a free mandolin lesson with Matt Flinner. Matt will be conducting the lesson in a workshop format live on the internet from 11 am to noon central time.
The workshop will focus on several exercises to help improve technique, including picking exercises, double stop exercises and scale and arpeggio exercises. We’ll also learn a new tune and look at a few ways of varying it using some of the exercises as examples. PDFs of the material will be provided for download.
Students will also get a preview of Matt’s Bluegrass Mandolin 101 and 102 level Summer Intensive Courses, which begin June 10 and 11.
Students need only a computer and a good internet connection (and a mandolin). A microphone is optional, as students can ask questions via audio if they’d like to. Students also have the option of using a phone to hear the audio and be able to speak if desired (more info is provided on this when you register). Students have generally asked questions via chat window rather than audio, and it seems to work pretty efficiently.
All ability levels are welcome.
This lesson also gives students of the Summer Intensive Courses (both 101 and 102 levels) a chance to familiarize themselves with the Citrix interface we’ll be using for the courses. It’s free and easy to use!
